Antonio Alessi, BSA Eagle Scout Candidate and the founder of PopupFoodDrive.org, met with the Nazareth Area Food Bank Board to provide a project status update. Food Board President Nancy Madara introduced Antonio the the board members who didn’t meet Antonio during the COVID-19 quarantine.
Antonio provided a brief summary of the project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
After the summary, the PopupFoodDrive.org website portal functionality was discussed, including how it will link with the new Food Bank website. Once implemented by the Food Bank, Food Bank visitors will be able to learn about getting started, how to start an event and reserve a PopupFoodDrive Kit.
The PopupFoodDrive Kits are in development. Three A-Frame Signs (a.k.a Sidewalk Sign) branded with the Food Bank logo have been built by Nazareth Troop 76 Boy Scout volunteers for inclusion in the PopupFoodDrive Kits. The final phase of the kit development is in progress. When completed, 3 15-foot feather flags, 12 direction yard signs, and 100 posters will be distributed into the kits for use by event operators. After the digital marketing materials are created, the project will be complete.
The board was very engaged, asking a number of questions to understand the process and determine their logistical requirements. The PopupFoodDrive Program was created to minimize administrative and labor hours, satisfying the Food Bank’s project requirements.
With questions satisfactorily answered during the 15 minute presentation, the board was excited to see the progress of the project and look forward to its completion.
